When learning English, it is best to work with real-life situations. We do not offer financial, legal, or immigration advice; instead, we assist with the English language skills required for success. Here are some examples of support we have provided to our students.Â
We assisted a San Carlos mother in completing the paperwork to enroll her son in a private school and then guided her through the process of joining that school's community.
We have helped people prepare for their US immigration interviews. We are not immigration experts, but we understand the questions and answers, and we help people understand the questions so that they can pass the test. We have achieved excellent success in this approach.
We have helped people resolve housing disputes. We are not attorneys, but we help with the fundamental communication issues.
We accompanied a student to a courtroom to provide English and moral support on a minor matter. We did not act as an attorney; there was no attorney. We were silent while the student talked to the judge.
We have helped a student from South America prepare for the test she needed to take to become a registered nurse in the United States. We are not nursing experts, but we were able to help her understand the questions and vocabulary.
We have helped a Stanford biology researcher prepare for a presentation. Although we were not familiar with the details of biology, we were able to help her prepare to speak confidently when she presented to a group of other scientists.
We coach individuals who are unsure of how to secure a better job. We help them write resumes, identify job fairs, and practice interviews.
We have helped students apply to adult ESL schools and Canada College and supported them during graduation exercises.
We have helped students prepare presentations for their Canada College ESL classes.
We lead conversation classes at local adult schools and encourage students to participate.
We have helped parents with medical forms and coached them on vocabulary when they were planning to see a doctor for one of their children.
People usually learn language best when dealing with real-life situations, and we are delighted to help them!
